Internet Student Information System (ISIS)

Internet student information system (ISIS) is one of the system that had been used in the education system. I take this example of systems because it has been used in my wife’s schools, namely Sekolah Sri Damansara in Bandar Sri Damansara.

The system has been purchased and used in the school as a pupil and parent interaction medium and data storage. This system facilitates the delivery of information. Parents can also access relevant data to track the progress of their child. Among of the data that can be accessed by parent are the student profile, the financial system such as payment of outstanding fees If any, the activities carried out in school, homework and the latest information about any program held in school.

Any changes of the information can be easily done such as changes in address, personal data and student financial system. This system is very clear and detailed. Although the data is complete and easy to access, security aspects are also taken into account. Only the relevant parties are allowed to access and update the data. ID and password are required to enter the system. The security aspects needed as prevention to any problems especially leakage of important information such as academic and co-curricular achievements.

So far, this system is only used by the private education sector in view of the relatively high cost. This system has the potential to grow to include all sectors including government sector. This system is very useful and helpful in line with the latest technological advances and the time constraints faced by each individual. This system is one of the successes of advanced technology.
